How to Set up Dynamic DNS in Vultr?

In case you are not using the DNS of the Vultr service, you can follow the guideline mentioned here to set up the Dynamic DNS in Vultr.

  • After setting up the DNS service, you must click on Services
  • From the drop-down menu select the DNS management
  • Click on the Domain Name
  • You can now see all the details regarding your DNS records like A record, MX record, CNAME, etc.
  • Note down all the details of these records as you you need them later

The next step is to install the necessary tools and it required Python 3. If python 3 is not installed then you can check the details for it in the following link, under the section installing the required tools.

You must then download the Dynamic DNS client and use GUIT to clone the repository that includes the python DDNS client. After that you must run the command – git clone – DNS.git vultrddns && cd vultrddns.
